Recently the following annoucement was posted in this newsgroup:

	On June 10th, F. DeLauer, US Dept. of Defense
	Undersecratary for R&D, announced a change to the DoD Languages Policy.
	Beginning Jan 1st 1984 for "new work" and July 1st 1984 for
	"work reaching advanced development stage", basically all US DoD-written
	software will be required to be in Ada.

The info is accurate, but you should be advised that it's probably just been 
floated to check reaction.  The above requirements have little chance of
taking effect in the specified time frame.  At least, that's the way it looks
from here.  Anyone out there with a contrary view?
