Yes, this is the "normal" approach.


Package Module is

   type T is tagged private;

   procedure put(x: in out T; item: SOME_TYPE);

   function get(x: T) return SOME_TYPE;

private

  type T is tagged record
    ... implementation details ...
  end record;
