Why have you chosen to work in a language which deliberately
prevents you from expressing what you explicitly need to do?

This whole thing has an air of the naughty Victorians about it.
No one is willing to talk about what they're doing, but they're
all doing it. The program stands there full of hypocrisy, saying
"Pointers? Who me? I'm in Spark! No pointers here!" while dealing
in pointers with its shady C-based friends.
