It seems that Motorola's latest PowerPC microprocessor ,the MPC7400 ,is
aimed at C and C++ because they are "favored" . The following was
taken from their web site
http://www.motorola.com/SPS/PowerPC/AltiVec/facts.html
"The preferred programming environment is the C and C++ languages favored
by embedded systems developers. Motorola is working with leading tools
providers to develop simulators, assemblers, linkers and compilers to
assure full support for the AltiVec technology."
I wonder if anyone is working on incorporating the necessary compiler
features required to take advantage of the EPIC/IA-64 architecture. It is
not just another target. What are the issues of designing an Ada95
EPIC/IA-64 compiler?
