I don't know if this is the most appropriate newsgroup for this question,
so I'm apologizing in advance if it isn't.

I've got gnat 3.09 running under Linux 2.0.30. I want an Ada-aware version
of gdb. I downloaded gdb 4.16 from a GNU mirror, and the
gdb-4.16.gnat.1.12.diff.gz patch from the cs.nyu.edu FTP site. What are the
exact steps necessary to make and install the Ada-aware gdb 4.16?

I applied the patch, and everything seemed to go well. I moved the ada-*.c
and ada-.h files to gdb-4.16/gdb (since the first time I tried to make it,
it couldn't find those files) I ran ./configure --host=i586-linux and that
went fine. Then I ran 'make', and after several minutes compiling, it
spewed out a bunch of errors, mostly "unknown identifier" or something
close to that, from inside some *.o files.

I couldn't find any instructions anywhere for creating an Ada-aware gdb,
and I was wondering if someone could point me in the right direction. I'm
fairly new to Linux, and don't know much about 'make' (though I'm
learning).

Thanks!
