Out of curiosity, I just successfully ran an, admittedly trivial,
program with 2,000 simultaneous tasks.
IIRC BTW, Windows sockets are polled, not interrupting. Non-blocking
sockets send messages to the desired window, and you watch for them
by polling PeekMessage.
