Most of the "freeware" stuff I might download for my PC from places like happypuppy.com does *not* come with sources, and that is the domain in which I tend to see the term used most. It could be that you are thinking more along the lines of BSD-style licensing. If that's the case, note that the BSD license actually qualifies as Free Software.
