I used to work with another guy on a 64K machine: two editor sessions, two FORTRAN-IV compilers, two linkers. I must admit, that was tough, but when we got 128K, there was no problem anymore. When first PCs came equipped with 640K it was a shock to me how this "huge" amount of memory was wasted. For example, at the same time a 1MB VMS machine was used to support 6 interactive LSE-users. (These days I cannot compile some Ada programs under Windows 32-bit XP because GNAT runs out of the 2GB memory limit! (:-)) -- Regards, Dmitry A. Kazakov http://www.dmitry-kazakov.de
