The right "some day" to fix this is circa 1982 -- anytime after 1983 is too late. Sigh. Unless someone can come up with a fix that is upward compatible, which is quite hard. It has been discussed many times. Note that the original designers of Ada 83 knew about this problem, and discussed it, but did not come up with a proper fix. - Bob
