The scary thing is that your experience is no exception, there are _so_ many representatives of this type of manager around. It's the kind of manager that actually thinks that hiring java or C++ programmers is so easy because they teach these languages at "every school", and fail to understand that having successfully spent 2 or 3 years at some school which educates "it professionals" doesn't necessarily imply that you're suited to be a programmer at all, and it _definitely_ doesn't mean that you're well trained in the languages they happen to use at that school. -- (espen)
