There has been a big merge in march, which was too late for the 3.2 release. However it is in the current CVS HEAD, which will become 3.3 at some later date. For Windows -which is what I am working on- the improvement from 3.2 to 3.3 is huge. However there are still a number of backend problems and about 100 ACVC tests fail. As for the update policy, you should ask the maintainers, which currently are Robert Dewar and Geert Bosch. gr.
