They are thinking about their resumes not the project. The only way that will change will be when companies understand that the programming language is only of secondary importance to software engineering skills. I find it sad that almost any job offer I have seen on-line contains # of years programming in language X as a listed requirement where # of years of software engineering skill X would certainly be a better measure of ability.
