You misunderstood me. I do that for any code I want to keep in my program. However if I see that my program is faulty, I usually put in some Put_Line's to give me some hints to what is the problem. I find this approach faster than using a debugger when I know where the problem is. If I cannot figure it out I use a debugger of course. The important thing is that I remove the Put_Line when I'm certain that the problem is fixed. :-) Preben
