Open source software only happened because of companies like M$ stealing
all of the market with shoddy software and not letting anyone else get any
way in unless you work for them.

GPL is not the only way to develop software, but, it is the only way to
develop software that can get into the market. Simple as that.

When M$ is dead, OSS will no longer need to exist and probably won't.
