The bug is actually awful: Just four innocent (doing nothing) source files cause the program to hang infinitely despite it was asked to do none. Note that the bug is triggered only for dynamic libraries. To reprise the bug unpack the attached minimal.tar.gz archive run make all && make run It stucks infinitely.
