They don't know the database.
Privileges would have to be set up.
Views would have to be created.
They'd need to learn, and accept, what matters to the statistics, and what doesn't.

IOW, all the work that the provider of report data is now doing
for the consumers would have to be done by consumer. Would you say
that a consumer, instead of a buying a cupboard (a meal) should
just get wood and tools and lacquer (get access to the chef's kitchen)?

Even assuming that there is some business entity that is
freely offering their customers access to data, this shows
some negligence of necessary business variables.
