If using select statement for accepting entry calls then:

   Paused : Boolean := False;
begin
   loop
      if Paused then
         accept Release;
         Paused := False;
      else
         select
            accept Pause;
            Paused := True;
         else
            ... -- Do stuff
         end select;
      end if;
   end loop;
