In addition to providing directory information, .adp files can be used to specify project-specific compiler and linker options. Using .adp files is much more flexible than using the ada-mode customization options in emacs. The documentation of the .adp format is specified in the "Project Files" section of the Gnat Users Guide, distributed with every verion of GNAT.
