Yes, this has a 10 year+ history - before gprbuild.

Still, I do not see why the change of PATH is DISGUSTING.
Especially not for the case of the OP.

And as Thomas Löcke pointed out, it does not
have to be a 'big, consistent, safe and verified build system'
It is enough that set the path locally in a make file.

I do not see that as DISGUSTING either.
