What about a dolphin? Most people like dolphins. They're sleek and fast and
very intelligent. All things people like about Ada :-)

Linux's mascot is actually a wild-eyed drunken bum lying in the gutter. But
that was much harder to make a good graphic than a penguin so they left
Stallman's picture aside and just used the penguin ;-)
