I think it's fair in this case as it's that "one compiler" that most people are using. It's pretty easy to erase a single pragma (and note in the Janus/Ada, as it is a warning, you don't even have to erase it); if you started with GNAT (which 98% of free software will have done), you're not likely to introduce any ICC or Janus/Ada extensions anyway. Of course, beyond that, it's important that other vendors catch up. The Contracts stuff in particular is a big advantage for Ada over other languages.
