Anyway, Atego (in an earlier form), tried a cheaper Ada compiler, but gave it up after a number of years (at least 5) because they couldn't make money from it. Our experience at RR Software is similar. My guess is that no Ada compiler ever could be "mainstream", because the language doesn't contain curly brackets -- a for a lot of people, programming can only be done in a language with such brackets. (Sadly, I'm serious.) Of course, people could prove me wrong by flocking here to buy Janus/Ada. ;-) Randy.
