We started implementing Ada 80 (it was 1981, after all, Ada 83 was still a couple years away), and it didn't have those symbols. I just pulled the our (last) Ada 80 manual off the shelf, and it has the same list of delimiters that Ada 2012 does. > Don't know why they didn't stick with it.
