Ah! I understand. I misunderstood you because you also refered to Gentoo which who already have switched to GPL fro 2.4.0. So -- purely hypothetically -- if a fork of 2.4.0 (from your present version turns) up it might be possible to keep the GPL? Of course there is a number of issues here (maintenance vs. GMGPL, is anybody intrested in maintaining old 2.4.0 etc) but the question is purely hypothetical so far. Regards -- Markus
