They are certainly worth a complaint. The daunting cost of paper standards, and the standards process funding mechanism that prevents most of the standards from becoming freely downloadable softcopy, arguably are active deterents to widespread use, or even awareness, of standards. xanthian. Contrast with the Java API standards/docs from Sun, the W3C Cascading Style sheets standards, and the W3C HTML4.1standards, all of which spin on my laptop and are in daily use by me, just because I could afford them and download them. These are _immensely_ successful standards. I helped _write_ three other, high-cost, hardcopy-only standards, yet cannot afford, either by price or by carrying capacity, to own, use, or evangelize any of them. -- Posted via Mailgate.ORG Server - http://www.Mailgate.ORG
