All that's true, but in those cases you are no longer just "relying on the =
PATH variable" anymore; you are relying on a big, consistent, safe and veri=
fied build system that performs all the requisite checks to ensure the PATH=
 variable is correct.  At that point, you've essentially just engineered yo=
urself a home-brew gprbuild tool, which is as effective as any other.  The =
problem is when people merely expect to type "gnatmake -P project.gpr" and =
expect consistent results based on whatever happens to be in the PATH at th=
e time.
