What processor are you using, it is quite surprising if your statement about only a C compiler being available is correct. There are some processors with no Ada compiler, but not many, and almost none with no GCC, and thus no GNAT port in reach. Depending on the size of the project, it may be less work and less expense to acquire an Ada compiler for your processor, than to persue the translation approach.
