In the past Labtek has developed patches on their own which have been at their site, and not always properly coordinated with the release at NYU. We are attempting to correct this in the future and avoid further patches (the 4.01a in the NT release comes from Labtek, who has in the past used the letter to indicate patch levels, but in future we hope to be able to coordinate with Labtek to avoid this kind of confusion).
