Actually since Windows is not a standard, it is just a trademark of MS, no such statements can be made. Standards make a big difference. For instance, it is quite important for people in this newsgroups to distinguish between Ada (the standardized language), and Ada (the language implemented by their local compiler). The confusion between the two is the source of many problems (in Ada and all other standardized languages).
