Dictionary.reference.com lists 5 (!) definitions of freedom thefreedictionary.com lists 11 definitions, among them: 3.a) Political independence. 4. Exemption from an unpleasant or onerous condition. 7. Frankness or boldness; lack of modesty or reserve. And as we can see they aren't semantically identical - freedom is not well = defined word, so you can't say that Stallman is twisting the meaning of wor= d (especially that one of the synonyms of freedom is... license)
