They did not feel my business model supports the change back to GMGPL, eve= n for a targeted market, and the available FSF compilers can serve the need= s of those other markets. Respectable position. << I would rather do it with them despite what they did to the community wi= th the GPL version, total disregard of it, they have put in the work on the= compiler and the language that deserves giving them a chance to be part of= the solution.>> This could be taken out of context of the rest of the thread, so to make cl= ear: I feel (obviously) very strongly the switch from GMGPL to GPL version of pu= blic versions for GNAT was a split of AdaCore away from the Ada community t= o a business centric model to strengthen their hold in their markets even t= hough it weekend the communities ability to advocate in markets that AdaCor= e does not feel will work for them. I respected their decision and their right to make that decision then 10 ye= ars ago as I continue to do so now. The last intention I have is to discourage anyone from the excellent suppor= t AdaCore offers if you are in their market. Again very clear from every po= st. I think every message I've given has reflected the above which is balanced = and extremely fair. I encourage people to use and improve the FSF version of GNAT and build a s= tronger community version if Ada is to be advocated beyond the niche market= s it is in now. David Botton
