I don't know about how things work in the rest of the world, but when your parents ask you to drive over and help your neighbor with their VCR problem, you go over and help them out. Now it is not my fault if they wanted to treat me to ice cream and give me $10 as a reward. I acted in charity, and they responded with charity. Such actions are common in the Midwestern US. How does that covert my profession from "student" to "VCR programmer"?
