Thanks for the info, it is comforting when I look back at
my first life ;-) Maybe  I can ask my employer to work on
space optimizing strategies to improve on aliasing in and
around London, using techniques exemplified in these books.
Hey, maybe they agree, one of them is currently playing with
neuzzy networks ;)
