My use of "handle" above is misleading -- I just don't have LaTex or FrameMaker (etc) installed. PDF is fine but not everyone can produce it. Postscript is convenient for people because just about anything can select a postscript printer and capture the output to a file. I can then convert the postscript to PDF myself.
