Besides, =E2=80=98my dear boy=E2=80=99 would be the British vernacular, as =
a variant of the older era =E2=80=98my dear chap=E2=80=99.  (I am American =
through & through.)  I think that you have me confused with someone here on=
 c.l.a who is British.  I don't use the word boy to refer to anyone older t=
han about 12 years old, and then not as a form of address.
