Ada as it is now, could certainly have them -- the Standard allows implemen= tation defined pragmas and aspects -- indeed, the advent of CUDA was [IMO] = a very big lost opportunity. Had nVidia used Ada + pragmas & aspects instea= d of C + [essentially] embedded-GPU-assembly-directives it would have done = a *LOT* to boost Ada's reputation in parallel (it used to have a good one) = as well as spur on development of making GPU-enabled tasks [fairly] automat= ic. (Randy disagrees w/ me on this.) The "tasklets" (parallel block/for/etc) that are in Ada2020 do a lot of tha= t, and will probably be useful for compilers that are GPU-code enabled.
