Freedom of choice is what you've got. Freedom *from* choice is what you want! :-) There *are* too many component libraries out there. Well, maybe not *too* many in the sense that they aren't identical and the plurality allows for specializing to satisfy different needs. But for basic data structures, there ought to be a single, basic data structure package that was the conventional answer so we could point students and newbies at it and show them an Off The Shelf answer to their problems. Other component libraries might then be aluded to when they satisfy special needs.
