I am unsure ;-) but I was only stating that the problem (a) of taking a set
of instructions and translating them to a different set(compiling) is very
different from the problem (b) of determining the equivalence of two sets of
instructions.
Robert was talking about problem (b) while Tom was talking about problem
(a).  This was the misunderstanding.
