You just can't compete with the leverage someone can get by using some language that has a really well integrated IDE. You *almost* get there if you want to pull together a bunch of things available on the net & learn how to use them with inadequate documentation - but in a time-to-market driven environment, its bad enough asking people to learn a language they don't already know without asking them to cobble together their own development environment & struggle to learn how to use it. It might help to develop an IDE and a library full of useful stuff, but there's still a sales job that needs to be done. Languages aren't usually born with a full toolset instantaneously available - yet they still get adopted. So while I'm still 100% behind the notion of developing more & better tools, I think Ada would benefit from a better understanding of what the market likes to buy.
