We chose Ada more then 12 years ago for safety and portability concerns, and check our code against different compilers. Being tied to one compiler vendor is exactly what you are likely to dislike when you choose Ada. Ada world is small enough to make you feel extremely uncomfortable if you depends on one single company. It is everything but nice to depend on Microsoft, it's not a very good solution to find yourself in the same case, but with a company which could disappear or drop Ada language within a few years.
