I noted with interest that the recent release of KDevelop offers Ada support (no doubt due to gnat being a part of gcc). Is Ada gaining favor in the open source community? I should think that the availability of a good quality, free compiler would be attractive to open source developers. Some people I talk to say things like, "Ada is that DoD language, and I'm not into military stuff." It seems like Ada's association with the DoD has not helped it... at least not lately. However, if Ada attracts the attention of students and hackers (I'm using the positive meaning of "hacker" here), that might be very good for its long term future. Peter (who is a student thinking about using Ada in a class project)
