Perhaps this is a place where Ada methods might be promoted, although the general tone of the site may tend toward sloppy, as the founders have included a sample from their book of "how to validate an email address" which simplifies the problem to "userid@domain" purposefully omitting more complex forms such as the "@domain1:userid@domain2" that I use daily.
