The only magazine for Ada available today is the ADA Letters published by the ACM. The ACM allows institutional sponsorship of the magazine, which is typically done by two types - people trying to get into the Ada business looking to build up some goodwill, or Ada contractors around the time of a major contract or movement into Ada. ADA Letters sponsporship helps build up goodwill. What do the following numbers mean then? ADA Letters Institutional Sponsors Year Number 1984 28 1985 29 1986 34 1987 43 (counts from January issues) 1988 55 1989 67 1990 71 1991 72 1992 42 1993 33 Mergers aside, this is one of the few true honest measures of Mandated world attitudes, as the fees for institutional sponsoring come out of overhead and profits - i.e. is their own money that they are spending. And it does seem that companies are quickly losing interest in supporting Ada. As an insider trading indicator, Wall Street says "GO SHORT ADA". One more indicator that the Ada Mandate has so disrupted the markets that the industry is being wrecked through its sheltering. Not the wisest way to base national security.
