Message-ID: List-Id: >Is there a reuse newsgroup on the Internet? comp.sw-components talks about reuse and software components, but there is little traffic for that group. comp.software-eng has a lot of talk about software engineering, with an occasional article on software reuse. Then there are discussion areas associated with some of the USENET online software repositories, where one area has code posted, and another area talk about using the Internet to have these codes reused. In general, reuse is not much of a business, so finding a few business types willing to keep a discussion group going is hard to find. And most academic efforts in reuse tend to avoid the more difficult and more boring aspects of reuse that people in companies are interested in to start their reuse efforts. There is a government sponsored Reuse Interoperability Group that meets regularly to talk about reuse. It would be nice if they posted some of their discussions and results to the Internet. -- ************************************************************************** Greg Aharonian Source Translation & Optimization P.O.
