I hope you're not being serious, because there are a flaws with both the facts (half the world, or even "most programmers" using Java) and the inference that if this were the case that it isn't a big deal. Generics are one of the most requested features in Java, and it looks like some variant of Generic Java (http://www.cs.bell-labs.com/who/wadler/pizza/gj/) will influence Java 0X. It's also a bit sad that this kind of argument (most people are using X so there is no need for anything better than X) is ever used in programming language discussions. -- Brian
