The more skilled you are, the worse the situation is. Certainly many people need or just want to be just "adequately" compensated and taken care of. But, especially in today's high-tech arena, most (many) would prefer to capitalize on their skills without limitations. This is not possible with most employee agreements. And there isn't an employer around that is going to "clue- in" anyone. Hence we have capitalism as an unethical practice of manipulation as opposed to a process that leads to development of people, provides opportunity, makes the US strong etc. A step in the right direction is to reduce the politicing and increase production; reward ethical behaviour and leadership and reject the opposites. Many ways to approach the problem but the greedy enemy is formidable. Best way of all.. just do it: be a good example. billg
