The contract award was protested (for other reasons, whew!). During the recompete the rules were changed somewhat, and I think then a target validation but not a host validation on a '286 sans '287 (or 68020 sans 68881) was required. It wasn't that hard a thing to support, but at the point it came up the first time around, it was to late to ask for it. -- Robert I.
