Four (8 hour) days to recompile everything works out to 1000+ lines a minute, 24 hour days it would be closer to 350. The truth is probably somewhere in that range. The less than a day figure on the HP Snake only puts a lower bound on the performance on that platform. How long does it take to compile a 2 million line C++ program in that environment? I'm pretty sure it has never been done on such a small machine, but Microsoft might have comparable answers on for the large RISC platforms... -- Robert I.
