In the bad old days, that wasn't always feasible, but nowadays almost anybody with a computer has access to some form of high-speed written communication. I've also had the experience of reading my AUTOEXEC.BAT file over the telephone. It consisted of a single call to some other file, which completely mystified the support person. :-( - Bob
