How ironic. Sun, IBM, ATT, DEC et al. cannot manage to set a standard for UNIX. It takes a single programmer who decides to port UNIX for his own PC -- that's the 'de facto' standard. (Granted, LINUX has gone far since those early days). I work with UNIX, administer UNIX but I still don't like it. 90% of the time, I'd rather be working on my NT box. But then I have the hardware for NT and many I support are challenged enough by NT's and Win95's UI -- They wouldn't have a prayer of getting anything done in UNIX. (Nothing against them, they are good people -- it is just that if you want to do something useful in UNIX, there is an expensive learning curve.) Ross
